On Monday, February 10, 2025, MPLD Consulting organized a public outreach event at the Sandpiper Bay Resort. The purpose of this event was to discuss a proposed City-led text amendment that would grant institutional use to the rest of the CG area.

Rebecca, the representative from MPLD Consulting, explained that the amendments aim to allow the academy to continue operating on the grounds with designated dormitories, a cafeteria, and outdoor areas. However, it’s important to note that no new buildings will be constructed; instead, the existing structures will undergo revitalization efforts.

Marika Sexton, the General Manager of the Sandpiper Bay Resort, expressed their optimism about a potential soft opening in July. Additionally, they are currently finalizing new discount programs, with a specific one tailored for Sandpiper Bay Community Associate Members, Port Saint Lucie residents, and other relevant groups.

On a positive note, there will be no changes to the golf course.
