Sandpiper’s Kim Penning Receives Award
Last Tuesday, the Port St Lucie Police Dept held its third quarter recognition ceremony for outstanding leadership.
For the “Volunteer of the Quarter” the award went to Sandpiper’s Kim Penning.
Kim is Captain of the Sandpiper Bay Volunteer squad of volunteers for our Community Patrol.
The Sandpiper Bay Community Patrol is managed by the PSL Police and staffed by volunteer from here. It was the first in PSL going back to the 1990’s.
It is a show of police presence in our area, deterring potential illegal activity, observing in non-HOA areas that we are in compliance with city code, and simply being eyes and ears, reporting anything suspicious.
Please say thank you to Kim when you see her! And…the patrol is looking to grow its volunteers with the goal of a patrol car on the street 3 time a day seven days a week. To do that she needs to add some volunteers to the team. Talk to her if you can spare 2 hours a week.
